His father used to have a house on the road parallel to the Sterling road and I remember him telling me that the front part of the verandah had a shape of a boat. "Kaka-pee" :) ... that really brought him right back in front of me! I miss him and the grin, and the pipe, and the awful toe-nails that he refused to cut, and the concern he had for my work.
